Road 2009 Update
Before you know it, the January 2009 Road to California show will be here.....All of the classes for ROAD 2009 are filled....Call or email if you have any questions about any of the classes....2009 is going to be a great year for quilting...!!!
Even if you are unable to attend one of Jodi's classes, you can still see and learn from her at the booth. She is always in the booth during the day....and her classes are at night. Jodi wants to see you at ROAD and help you learn the Square in a Square system...
Lecture Information at Road... Jodi will have a lecture at the Road to California show where you can learn the Options, see the quilts and hear fun stories. Check it out on the Road to California website and sign up; you may be able to sign up at the event, but don't wait.
Class Information on Pineapple Picnic (one of the classes Jodi is teaching at Road) If you are taking the Pineapple Picnic class, the fabric supply list is for a lap size quilt. If you only are doing the three blocks in class, I would suggest that you cut 1/4 of the fabric requirements. The only thing that we will be using in class are the 2 inch strips of color A, color B and a light or background. You may also go to the Advancing On II book, page 66 and cut those fabric requirements. The sizing is different but it does not matter. That is the thing about a pineapple quilt; we can use any size of strips and squares. If you have questions or need help, call the studio at 888.624.6260 or 817.605.0003...looking forward to seeing you in class....Jodi
Jodi Barrows has revolutionized the quilting world with the Square in a Square®, a new technique for rotary cutting and strip piecing that allows quilters to achieve perfect points with improved accuracy, simplicity of construction, and speed.
The resulting blocks go together with great ease and lie very flat.Sound too good to be true? Trust me, it’s true.
The amazing technique begins with a square piece of fabric, or other shape, to which strips of fabric are attached and then cut with a rotary cutter in a very special way.The results are entire blocks or parts of blocks quickly and accurately achieved. To this end, Jodi has designed a special ruler called the Square in a Square® Technique Ruler which makes the unusual cutting incredibly easy. Included with the ruler are diagrams showing how to cut and sew the first seven Options™.
